This is Claire and her family less than a year ago. Enjoying life with her husband Bobby and their beautiful boys Bobby Jnr 6 and baby Ollie. Prior to falling pregnant with Ollie Claire had started to feel unwell displaying classic symptoms of Bowel Cancer, but because she was under 50 she was not offered screening and was instead wrongly diagnosed with a food intolerance. By the time she got the right diagnosis it was too late. The Cancer was at stage four and had already spread to other parts of her body. In true Claire style, she was an absolute warrior and fought with every inch of her being but 6 months after diagnosis, and just 2 days after Ollies 1st birthday, she passed away.
We are Claires army of friends! Absolutely devastated by her loss but determined to raise awareness and join Bowel Cancer UK in their campaign to improve early diagnosis by making screening more accessible to younger people. 9 out of 10 people will survive this if caught early enough, so lets get going!! It was Claires biggest wish for this not to happen to anyone else, and so she leaves us with this mission... we will step up and raise as much money and awareness as we can!
To kick things off in March we are committing to 50 miles each for Claire. Some of us will run, some will walk and some will hobble but we will do this, every step thinking of our beautiful friend who missed out on so much of life.
Please get behind us and support this cause if you can. If you aren't able to donate at this time , don't worry. You can still help by sharing this page.
Thanks,
Team Claire
