Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, I will be running the Great Manchester 10k on 22nd May 2022, in memory of Claire and raising money for Bowel Cancer UK.
Claire was diagnosed too late with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer, after previously reporting classic symptoms more than a year earlier to both her GP and specialist, who wrongly diagnosed her with some type of food intolerance.
Claire's family are raising money for Bowel Cancer UK to help in their campaign to improve early diagnosis. 9 out of ten people will survive this condition if this is achieved. This was Claire's biggest wish for us to get involved in this and ensure others, regardless of age are able to access this screening programme.
Currently, the earliest the NHS offer this is from 50 years old. There are too many younger people that are affected well before this and never get to this milestones as a result. It might seem that having to deposit a sample in a test pot isn't very nice, but the consequences are far more inconvenient should you develop this condition.
She leaves 2 boys - Bobby Jnr, 6 and Ollie,1 as well as her husband Bobby, sister Jo and Mum Angela who all miss her so much
Claire managed to celebrate her youngest son's 1st birthday, 2 days before she passed away with all her family with her. Anyone who knew Claire would tell you what a thoughtful, selfless person she was and she is so very missed x
